2. What are the advantages of customising an object class?

  • Meaningful operation is recorded (e.g. GroupExpand instead Click 23, 45)
  • Readability (easy to understand e.g. SelectGroup "Accounts ")
  • Reliability (replay is done using the API of the object)
  • Maintainability (modifies a dll instead of all scripts, so the extensibility can be enhance afterwards)
  • Usability (Subject Matter Expert or Business Analyst can use new methods through Step Generator or KeyWord View in QuickTest Professional, and Function Generator in WinRunner.
  • Object recognition as new properties can be added
  • Immediate return on investment

3. Is there a fixed price for a customisation work?
eProdix cannot provide a fixed price for a customisation work, as the cost will depend on the object class, the environment, the complexity of a meaningful behaviour, the number of methods to be implemented, etc…

4. Can eProdix provide customisation for any object?
eProdix will evaluate the custom component and decide whether customisation can be provided, this again, will depend on the complexity of the component, and the outcome of a cost/benefit analysis.
eProdix might advice whether a
replay solution is more appropriate instead of a record/replay solution.
